What are we supposed to remember on Memorial Day?

It’s not meant to be a cheeky question but an introspective one.  Without actually saying so, there’s a sense that there is a right answer to who and what we’re supposed to honor.  That means there are things we are supposed to overlook. That can’t be good for liberty.

Finding the problems is easy.  Agreeing that the problems are problems gets sticky.  A tolerant ear from an opposing person is rare and dispassionate discourse almost unheard of.  If no one can agree there are problems that don’t need solutions, how do we move forward?
