Daniel Leavell and the many faces of fire. A talk with a wild fire expert Episode 107

Calling a fire simply a fire overlooks the highly complex nature of what fire is.

At the base level, fire is a chemical reaction and the release of heat. It is neither good nor bad in itself. The power to destroy is also the power to invigorate new life.

Fire is vastly more complicated than the magazine articles listing 5 things people get wrong about fires. Daniel explains the many elements that, together, make up the conditions for fires.  Daniel also makes the case that the science that led to understanding forest fires need to be learned about subdivisions.
